On this episode of the Raw Islam podcast with Imam Azhar, fresh off the plan from hajj recounts his trip with some stories from the ground. This wrap-up not only covers the emotional aspect but the physical one as well.
B.C. Dodge opens the episode by welcoming all the listeners to the “getting to know your neighbors” podcast. That is what Raw Islam is about, getting to know and understand each other better through communication. We need to communicate so that we can sift through what is fact and what is fiction. There is so much false information about Islam floating around out there by these so-called Islam professionals. No amount of googling will replace the actually conversation of getting to know those that live next door to you – and if you are one of those that think that all Muslims are out to get you no matter what…if you get to know them, you can keep an eye on them!
Imam Azhar wishes all our listeners a happy Eid Al-Adha, which the remembrance of when God told Abraham (p.b.u.h.) to sacrifice his son; but God gave a ram in place of his son. Muslims around the world mark this event by sacrificing an animal and giving the meat away… and not just giving it away! The best cuts of meat, 1/3 of it, goes to the poor and the needy, for some this is the only meat they will get all year. The next 1/3, the second-best cuts of meat, go to your friends and family, and the last third of meat you keep to feed yourself and family.
